I started this blog in 2012 to document my journey through yoga teacher training. Many friends and family members expressed interest in my experience… and since I love to write, I thought what better way to share and connect with others than through an online media such as this. To this day, my teacher training weekends rank as some of the finest and most enriching days of my life. After eight months of intense yoga study, I graduated and received my 200-hr YTT certification… and continued to write.
Over the years, I’ve loved sharing yoga with whomever, whether at a gym, in a park, at a studio, or at work. And for several of those years, I taught multiple classes a week. But life takes turns and things change. Even though my yoga teaching days have come to a pause, yoga is and always will be a huge part of my life.
As I mentioned before, I love to write. I hold a B.A. in English Literature and a strong desire to inspire others through creative and well-developed content.
My day job is acting as Surgical Director of a busy ophthalmic practice. I’ve seen a lot in the almost 2 decades of being an ophthalmic technician. Sight is priceless, and being part of a team that brings it back for people is beyond words at times.
But baking is my happy place! Completely inspired and enamored with The Great British Baking Show, I bake like I’m one of the contestants when no one’s around. Speaking in a British accent and using words like, proving, icing sugar, and full-fat milk, I just know I’d make it to the next round! I dream of traveling to the British Isles and taking a cooking class in a breathtaking chateau on the hills on some Scottish countryside. But until then, I’ll bake by the ways of Mary Berry and share my sweets with my husband who never lets me throw “bad bakes” away, my kids who ask for cupcakes nearly every weekend, and friends who graciously try recipes I’ve only made once.
So here’s to doing what you love and sharing it with others. Cheers! I look forward to this journey!
