It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold; when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade.– Charles Dickens
This past weekend, I lived true to my weekly intention from the last week…
It was so gorgeous outside that I went to the plant nursery nearby, bought 12 viburnums to start a beautiful, evergreen hedge between us and our new backyard neighbor (…good fences make good neighbors:) we’re friendly but we also like our privacy), and spent all of Saturday planning and all of Sunday creating their little nestled homes in the ground. Each one went in with a little special cow manure mixture, some Start ‘N Grow to give them a root-down, a song, and a lot of love. Hopefully they will each take off and make me proud.
(Yes I do sing and talk to my plants. I’m sure they like it too!)
If you’re anything like me, you LOVE this time of year – with the days gradually warming, a frequent breeze in the air, and abundant blue skies.
With days like these, it’s EASY to be more present. It’s easy to be so present that you forget what time it is. Forget that it’s coming up on dinnertime and you haven’t even had lunch yet. Forget that the sun is going down until it’s too late and you’re racing daylight picking up gardening tools and tidying up the back deck. With blue skies and beautiful weather, it’s easy to be present in everything you’re doing on the weekend.
But moving into this past week… wasn’t quite the case. I totally meant to write but time kept slipping away from me. And not in the above mentioned way either. More in the busy, hurried, gotta-finish-this-before-I-move-onto-that kind of way.
Which is why I skipped writing my intentions for this week.
And even though I love creating little goals for the upcoming week, I really enjoy connecting with all of you. It’s my time to reach out and say hello. And I didn’t do that this past week. And for that I’m sorry.
But here I am now. Better late than never!
I hope you’ve had a wonderful week, and I’ll see you right here again on Sunday, as planned.
Lots of love, my friends.
