I was about to ask, “Is it just me or…”
But I know it’s not just me. I’ve seen many posts online recently about what’s going on in the cosmos right now – the solar eclipse, the lunar eclipse, the planets in retrograde, the emotions being stirred all over… so I know it’s not just me.
But in times like these, it does feel like it is just you, doesn’t it?
I will tell you the past several days have been tough. Fears rising up at odd times and having to dig deep to find the confidence in myself to remain intact. I’ve even noticed a lack of motivation at times, a self-questioning of my abilities, and in turn a loss of faith in certain things.
But that’s ok. It really is. And I’m not just saying that to make myself feel better. It is okay to have another look or reassess wherever you are, to re-examine where you want to be and your thoughts and steps on getting there. A little self-doubt isn’t the worst thing… call it an ego-check. It makes you human, actually. Just don’t let it consume you.
Find your heart, your soul, your life’s path even if you’ve wandered a bit, and regain your confidence, your spirit, your faith. Sometimes we need to take a step back to see the whole picture. Sometimes we need to take a breath to tell which way the wind is blowing.
So I’m taking my own advice and doing just that… slowing down and taking a breath.
Last week’s intentions:
- Finish Circling the Sun.
Complete my friend’s unicorn cake by noon on Saturday.
- Take Bella for a longer than usual walk after work.
- Take a moment before going to bed each day for reflection – either by writing in my journal or documenting here with a picture, poem, or story.
- Write my next week’s intentions on Sunday.
I only crossed one thing off of my list of intentions last week.
As evident by the posting date of this entry, I couldn’t even bring myself to write my list of weekly intentions on Sunday. I could blame it on being busy, but that’s useless. We’re all busy. We find time for what we think is important.
I need to place more importance on this:) if only for myself.
So my mantra for this week and one and only intention I am setting for myself is: Slow down and be gentle.
Wishing you a gentle week as well.
