Well, I do believe I was a little too ambitious with my list of intentions last week, especially having just had a skin cancer excised from my leg. I didn’t realize it would hurt as much as it did.
But nonetheless, I was able to cross a few things off my list. I’m thinking this week’s list should be shorter, since I have yet another surgery this week too.
(Ps… I’ll be glad when all of these procedures are over. Must remember to breathe through the next few weeks.)
Last week’s intentions:
Write my weekly intentions on Sunday.Notice the little things/moments each day.Take more pictures.- Take Bella for a longer than usual walk after work.
- Upload pictures of bakes to my Gallery page.
Make lemon curd (and not let my lemons go bad).Make a chocolate and orange tart.- Try to make mil hojas.
Do laundry.Tidy up our guest room.Vacuum and clean bathrooms.- Plan meals for the week.
Arrange my growing assortment of cake platesabove our kitchen cabinets.- Start researching places to visit in South Africa, including bakeries. (Still can’t believe I’m going!!)
- Research a weekend trip to Charleston, Savannah, or Beaufort.
- Take a moment before going to bed each day for reflection – either by writing in my journal or documenting here with a picture, poem, or story.
- Make more swiss meringue buttercream to play with!
This week’s intentions:
- Take Bella for a longer than usual walk after work.
- Upload pictures of bakes to my Gallery page.
- Take a moment before going to bed each day for reflection – either by writing in my journal or documenting here with a picture, poem, or story.
- Make more swiss meringue buttercream to play with.
- Take 3 minutes every day (whenever, wherever I can) to breathe deep, even breaths to bring myself back to center.
- Start planning EG’s birthday cake.
- Finish reading Circling the Sun.
My mantra for the week: There is no need to hurry. Breathe and give it time.
Wishing you a week of easy, comforting, and loving moments to soothe away the rough edges when they appear.
